I wear hats in honor of my mother, Jean Waters who was affected by Alzheimer's and passed away in 2019.We are within sight of preventing and successfully treating Alzheimer's. I am passionate about raising money to accelerate the process. In 2021, Aducanumab received accelerated approval as a treatment for Alzheimer’s disease from the FDA, making it the first FDA-approved therapy to address the underlying biology of Alzheimer’s disease. It is the first therapy to demonstrate that removing beta-amyloid, one of the hallmarks of Alzheimer’s disease, from the brain is reasonably likely to reduce the cognitive and functional decline in people living with early Alzheimer’s.
