Lecturer assigned to Microeconomics, Advanced Microeconomics and Advanced Statistics. Main duties include teaching, preparing lecture notes and exercises, and other instructional material such as power point presentations, articles to read or exams.

The Barcelona Institute of Economics is a research team specialized in Fiscal Federalism and Regional Economics, recognized by the Catalan Government and the University of Barcelona. Roles at the Barcelona Institute of Economics include carrying out the PhD thesis, participating in research projects, participating in drafting and editing economic studies (most of them commissioned by councils and provincial and regional governments), and participating in the organization of seminars, conferences and workshops. Therefore, • Large experience carrying out research and statistical work, including advanced applied econometric analysis (panel data methods, parametric and non-parametric public evaluation techniques,…); experience in using sectoral data and microdata, including PISA database; and experience establishing programs and procedures in various software packages as required for the implementation of econometric and statistical analysis, and the production of tables and graphs (Stata, Eviews, Matlab, Gauss, and SPSS).• Large experience in collecting, evaluating, interpreting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative information, what includes carrying out surveys to municipalities. • Experience with project organization and managing small teams.• Good organizational skills and ability to work according to tight deadlines; ability to plan and implement independent research, or as a part of a team; good drafting skills and ability to organize and summarize complex material.

The main duties were teaching Taxation and Public Finance subjects to undergraduate students, and supervising final degree essays.

The main role was giving advice about local economic policy, more specifically, about local public finance and regional development. Main duties included:• Identifying relevant policy issues for the Diputació de Barcelona, and preparing reports and briefing notes about these issues.• In collaboration with other colleagues, conducting analytical studies on these topics, as well as on regional economics. • Supervision of an analytical study about the local public finance system in Spain.

Fellowship at the Regional Funding Research Department of the Department of Economics and Public Finance. Main duties included: • Conducting a study about the stock of public capital in Catalonia, which is published as a working paper of the Ministry of Economics and Knowledge of Catalonia. • Collaborating with a comission in charge of reforming the local funding system in Catalonia, for which I developed some indicators of local expenditure needs and fiscal capacity, which allowed to evaluate the equity of alternative funding systems.
