    - Proactively taken on the AWS DevOps role, initially for my own Pod and subsequently for the entire Financial Web Product Group of 5 Pods, including broadening my knowledge and the role to take on elements of Ops support.- Researched options, planned and implementing the deployment pipeline from source code being committed to GitHub to the code running sustainably in Production across multiple availability zones and self healing deployments.- Monitored the deployment process and costs involved, implementing changes that have reduced monthly infrastructure running costs by $3K (24% reduction) and reducing the amount of time to deploy to Production by 35mins (87.5% reduction)- Spent time explaining the new deployment process, including running interactive training sessions so members of the Wellington Banking Team could get hands-on experience. For team members outside of Wellington, I’ve spent time on Hangouts to walk them through the process and ensure that they could independently create and maintain their own deployments.- As part of taking on the DevOps role, I’ve championed the use of Octopus Deploy for deploying to AWS within Banking and other teams. I’ve also listened to feedback from Devs and QAs within the Banking team on parts of the process that weren't as slick as they could be. Based on the feedback I’ve implemented changes such as moving from baking and deploying AMIs to deploying code artifacts, which reduced the time to deploy from approx 40mins down to less than 5mins- After setting up AWS deployments for Banking, I presented to 6 other Product teams across Xero, sharing knowledge of the Banking DevOps processes, including advice on the innovations I’d made plus what worked well and pitfalls that the other teams should avoid.
