The Humane Interface Design Enterprise, or HIDE is a student-run organization that takes client projects from the university or companies involving software, hardware, and usability. For my project experience in the organization, I arraigned and directed the usability testing for the micro-climate measuring device's website, (known as CocoTemp).I also conducted heuristic evaluations for the same website as well as the on campus voting application, a collaboration with the Student Government to facilitate undergraduate student elections.

I was hired by the Pavlis Honors College to not only help with day to day administrative tasks, but also help maintain their online presence by designing new logos with Adobe Illustrator, write social media posts, and conduct outreach to the other departments on campus to help bring in new students and keep the on campus community involved with our events.

At Tech Today, the employee newsletter, different organizations, staff, faculty, or students would send in articles and events around campus. Using CMS, I would then read through them for looking for errors, reformatting, and addressing any other concerns made by the requester, then send the articles along to my superior. Occasionally, there would be some minor HTML debugging needed to publish articles.

As a gap year, I was part of Americorps NCCC FEMACorps where we worked in teams of disaster logistics, disaster planning, and disaster survivor assistance. In addition to my team member duties, I also served as the team media representative, where I wrote newsletter articles, social media posts, and interacted with local communities. I also served as a reports specialist during the federally-declared disaster area of South Carolina in the fall of 2015, taking record of team activities for supervisors.
