I founded Meridian Lawyers Limited in 2004 and have served as Managing Director since that time. I am the driving force behind Meridian's strong growth to more than 230 staff and over 100 lawyers and its rise as a leading boutique legal service provider in the Australian insurance law space. Meridian's unique incorporated structure, with two strategic external shareholders in the Steadfast Group Limited and Guild Group Holdings, has allowed me to shape a dynamic and rapidly growing business. Meridian maintains a collegial and high-performance culture, backed by a friendly working environment. This enables Meridian to deliver an optimised client service through a focused team of leading lawyers who provide clients with pragmatic, solution-oriented legal advice.With more than 30 years’ experience, my reputation as a leading insurance and health/commercial lawyer has been realised through my involvement in a number of high-profile cases (including the Generic Substitution Litigation of the early 1990s and the 1995 Fairfax Litigation), as well as industry recognition in Best Lawyers Australia since 2017 in the areas of Insurance Law, Health & Aged and Professional Malpractice Litigation.I was also a finalist for Managing Partner of the Year at the 16th annual Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards. Meridian was named as a finalist of Law firm of the Year in the 18th annual Lawyers Weekly Law Awards. Since 2014, I have served as a Director of Employers Mutual Limited and was appointed Chair of their Board in June 2021. I am also a Director of Hospitality Industry Insurance and arced on that Board since 2018. This has allowed me to gain a detailed understanding of the challenges facing the Insurance industry and the importance of strategic thinking and planning in the face of such challenges.In 2019, I was invited to become a member of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel.I also lead the Corumbene Pastoral Company, an extensive agricultural operation with diversified cattle and crop interests in the NSW Hunter Valley region.
