I undertook a Masters-by-Research in the Learning Sciences and Technology, at the University of Sydney (USyd). My research dissertation focus was the development of pedagogical research-led design and facilitation rubrics for adult learning within 3D immersive environments such as VR; this work was undertaken in partnership with USyd's Immersive Learning Laboratory (ImmLL) and the Centre for Research in Learning & Innovation (CRLI).

In this role I facilitated process sessions, meetings, and learning in multiple streams (change management, continuous improvement, leadership, communications, career development & on facilitation itself). I also program managed learning portfolios in product innovation, mature-aged employees and women in leadership; these had a combined annual budget of $3m. To reduce cost, deliver accessibility and improve learning transfer, I co-created innovative blended learning solutions, leveraging flipped classroom concepts, leader-led sessions and digital collaborative platforms. I coached senior leaders on digital literacy, contributed to graduate program screening and mentored inside and outside of work. I championed social learning, community managing the Facilitation Skills community of practice within NAB and consulting on Yammer-based collaboration to teams across the business.

I trained people in both face-to-face and virtual classroom workshops. Content-wise, I specialised in credit risk, financial analysis, operations management, change management and leadership development. I also developed my process facilitation skills in this time, running continuous improvement, innovation and team off-site sessions. I travelled across Australia, including to most regional and rural areas, which was the absolute highlight.

At this time I looked after the banking needs of 120 small businesses and their families in Sydney's eastern suburbs. I loved being a partner in the growth of these businesses and I formed many deep relationships with my client base. In funding many cashflow lends, I learnt about managing risk and rewarding entrepreneurial boldness. My 4 years as a Lions Youth of the Year judge in Bondi introduced me to the importance of regular volunteering, which has now become a permanent part of life.
