Responsible for Developing and implementing a budget of $3.1M. Responsible for turning around an operation which had 5 consecutive years of cash deficits. Made sweeping changes to the program which resulted in a cash positive year end in 2008 (EBITDA) and have been fully funding depreciation with surpluses since 2010. Streamlined operations resulting in a more efficient use of facilities and staff during the non summer months. Upgraded our web presence and printed materials to focus on what made us different and better. Overall camp sleep away camp program enrollment has risen 22% and our day camp program enrollment has risen over 100% since 2006. Retention of individual campers has risen 46% since 2006 (currently at 67%). Fundraising has gone from less than 4% of revenue in 2006 to over 15% of revenue in 2022. In 2022, our fundraising efforts netted over $400,000.

Developed and implemented a budget of $1.3M for two camps. High retention rates at both the day and resident camps, 65% and 80% respectively. Recruited campers in Southeast Michigan. Trained and supervised 80 seasonal and 7 year round staff. Lead fundraising and grantwriting efforts which totaled $113,000 in 2003 and rose to $150,000 in 2005. Invigorated outdoor education and rental programs which resulted in a 25% increase in income and a 40% decrease of expenses.

Developed and implemented a budget totaling $1.1M for a 265-camper resident camp, a 92-camper day camp and a year-round outdoor center. Both Resident Camp and Day camp were full in 2000, 2001 and 2002. Recruited campers in the New England, New York and New Jersey areas. Recruited, trained and supervised 120 seasonal and 4 year-round staff. Responsible for overseeing all year-round programming at the camp. Wrote and edited the camp’s newsletter. Successfully expanded summer camp program 5% in 2001 with a new teen program and an outdoor adventure camp program.

Developed, led, and marketed youth and camp programs. Designed all marketing pieces related to the youth and camp departments. Developed and implemented budgets totaling $335,000 Recruited, trained and supervised a staff of 35 personnel. Redesigned entire camp program, with emphasis on character development and challenge by choice which became the impetus for a over a 20% growth in attendance and revenue.
