Nominated for the Carl H. Rosner award for Entrepreneurship in Superconductivity (2014), I have been involved with applications of superconductivity and magnetic separation technology since 1994. I have operated companies in Europe and China leading to a number of innovations and world firsts, including the first commercial-scale superconducting magnetic separation system incorporating cryogen-free technology.Since 2019 I have been involved with a wide variety of superconducting technologies and applications as a member of the General Atomics Magnet Technologies Center, including HTS magnet technology, nuclear fusion devices, and aerospace applications.
