During my tenure as VP Global Operations with ChildFund, I acted as Chair of the Steering Committee of the Joining Forces initiative (JF). JF is a collaboration between the 6 largest child-focused INGOs (Plan International, World Vision, Save the Children, ChildFund Alliance, SOS Children Villages, Terre des Hommes). The collaboration focuses on joint programming and advocacy in 30 countries on prevention of violence against children and promotion of child rights. As Chair I supervised the global secretariat and reported to the CEO oversight committee. Main achievements- Establishment and growth of grant portfolio to Euro 30 million.- Growth of Joining Forces initiative from 5 to 30 countries.

I supervised 3 Regional Directors. I was seconded to Plan’s organization in the Netherlands to assist them with the preparation of a Euro 50 Million grant proposal on Girls Empowerment. As Program Director I was responsible for the development of Plan’s global program policies and strategies, organisational learning, technical networks as well as the development of Plan’s capacity to assess program effectiveness and impact. I represented Plan at the regional level in contacts with governmental, multilateral and civil society organizations. As Regional Director I led a regional team which provided technical assistance and facilitated organizational learning in the areas of Program, HRD, IT, Communications/PR, Resource Mobilization and Administration/Finance. I supervised a field office with staff in the areas of Program, sponsorship, HRD, IT, audit and administration/finance. Design and implementation of a Monitoring and Evaluation system for a rural development project in which 45 small peasants associations participated in setting-up a small-scale cassava-drying industry.
