I am a professional engineering technician with over 22 years’ experience in the port and coastal engineering sector. I have worked extensively in marine civil construction in both a consulting and contracting capacity. I specialise in areas such as: remote location site investigation; breakwater construction and rehabilitation; coastal defence structures; harbour and marina inspection, design, and construction as well as physical hydraulic modelling.Countries of work experience include South Africa (resident), Mauritius, Mozambique, Qatar; expatriate to Namibia, Libya, the Seychelles, Tristan da Cunha and Zimbabwe; and onsite work in Zambia, South Sudan, Djibouti, Ghana, Oman, Republic of Congo and the UK.When working at head office I provide technical assistance, administrative assistance as well as design and design review on a wide variety of projects. Career highlights include practical experience of site supervision on one of the largest breakwater construction projects in Africa; and emergency design and repair of the primary breakwater on one of the most remote islands on the globe.
