Primarily responsible for the Transportation Sector, I was responsible for developing client relationships and supporting our clients in line with their strategic objectives whilst assisting XEIAD Client Account Managers in developing opportunities within other sectors.

In 2010 I was tasked with establishing an office in the East Midlands to primarily service rail inspection contracts but with a remit to develop additional services in other sectors to complement and secure the ongoing future of XEIAD in the north. Due to exceptional growth in the initial couple of years, in 2012 I managed the transition to larger offices in Derbyshire where the northern office currently resides.I managed a team of Project Managers, Engineers and Technicians, and oversaw the successful delivery of a number of key contracts within the Transportation, Government, Utilities and Complex Industrial Sectors.During this time I also expanded the service provision to include Structural Assessments, Topographical Surveys, Bathymetric Surveys, Structural Monitoring and Material Testing.

I had overall responsibility for managing all rope access/rail contracts on behalf of XEIAD.I was responsible for the production of bid documentation through to contract award and delivery of the works ensuring that all work was carried out on time, to budget and in accordance with the client requirements. I carried out structural inspections on a variety of structures nationwide to various specifications and on behalf of numerous clients.To maintain my Structural Inspection competency, I continued to undertake bridge and structure inspections on both rail and highway structures and mentored aspiring Bridge Inspectors to reach their potential.

The aim of the RSG SME Council is to promote & optimise the contribution by SMEs to the UK Rail Industry.

During my time at Pell Frischmann, I was responsible for maintaining railway related contracts received from regional offices. I maintained a vital interface with the client overseeing contract and commercial issues including managing change requests and producing internal and external project reports.Responsibilities included ensuring that all work was carried out safely and in accordance with Network Rail and HSE guidelines. I also advised the Health and Safety Manager on Rail and Rope Access safety related issues.

In order to develop a rounded Rail capability, I spent a period working on Plain Line Track Renewals in the Reading area alongside the Senior Track Engineer and was responsible for checking drawings, site plans and survey data and then validating site works upon completion.

As a Trainee Rail Engineer, I assisted in the management of the Structures Examination Contract on Network Rail (formerly Railtrack) Great Western Zone. I played a key role ensuring delivery of reports from Examiner to Client through the various stages including QC and Engineering Check. Also, I ensured that all costs were captured and recorded to allow the commercial team to recover fees from the client.
