Assignment with a UK Defence client:Portfolio Manager leading a team of 35 project, programme, PMO & project support staff. Supporting the full lifecycle (pre-sales to operational handover) of customer commissioned projects.Restructured team and formalised client engagement process to build an agreed prioritised projects list with a consistent delivery process. Assignment at Centrica:Programme Manager within the Critical Intervention team, leading a successful rescue a failing account team as a result of an escalation from Centrica’s CIO, resulting in renewal of the outsource contract.Assignment at BP:Portfolio Manager designed and structured a $40M multi-year technical refresh programme, establishing the business case and progressing the budget approvals through the BP Capital Value Projects (CVP) governance regime.

After leading a three month business case consultation against the original strategy, and despite strong political motivation to continue on the original track, the Board agreed with my recommendations for an alternative proposal, saving many millions of pounds and lowering the operating risk profile.

Multi-datacentre global consolidation strategy & business relationship manager.

Significant multi-million pound cost savings made at ABN AMRO in a Capacity and Rationalisation programme while managing the outsource vendor EDS. 200+ servers virtualised, HP Superdome estate rationalised and non-critical data storage & backups reduced. Delivered the programme benefits despite end-user reluctance to get involved and assist in reducing their estate.
