As well as lecturing at Stanmore, I have also been Pastoral Manager and currently am the E-learning lead at the College, responsible for researching suitable e-learning materials and advising departments within the college on best use of e-learning to support the delivery of courses to students.

Reporting to the M.I.S. Vice-president I had responsibility for all IT development projects, initially for the Head Office operation in London and then subsequently for all European and Japanese subsidiaries. My duties included:• Close liaison with all levels of management ensuring their requirements were met and that they were fully informed of development progress. • Identifying tasks and estimating work• Allocating and scheduling work• Monitoring progress against plan• Motivating and Managing team• Initial training of specific key users – to be included as part of project implementation team• Training of end users of Materials Management module of system• Analysis & Design using structured techniques (EG Dataflow diagrams)• Database design using ERD techniques• Programming using 4GL’s and SAP and IBM programming languages

Reporting to the I.T. manager I had responsibility for all I.T. development projects on the AS400. My duties included:• Management of 4 Analyst/Programmers. Evaluating and assigning tasks, monitoring progress and ensuring the quality of all work produced.• Managing system ,user acceptance testing and implementation of a bespoke SYNON/2 software package. • Specifying , designing and assisting in coding of a system in SYNON/2 • Creating development, test, and live environments including automated procedures to move and record all system changes from development to live environments.• Close liaison with all levels of management ensuring their requirements were met and that they were fully informed of development progress. • Design and coding (in RPGIII) programmes
