My career began in the IT industry, spanning software engineering to IT management over two decades. In 2005, a shift to teaching allowed me to channel my technical expertise into education. Starting with ICT and Computing in secondary schools, I transitioned to teaching in FE and joined Stanmore College in 2009. At Stanmore I taught IT and Computing for 10 years to groups from L1 to L3, on a range of courses including Access, BTECs and A Levels. During this time I also had additional responsibilities with remission based roles as Pastoral Manager for STEM and latterly as Senior eLearning Lead for the college. During my time lecturing, each lesson I delivered was rated 'outstanding,' paving the way for my role as Quality Manager in 2019.In my role as Quality Manager, I was responsible for various aspects of Quality Assurance/Improvement—including policy creation, curriculum reviews, and quality monitoring. I also spearheaded the college's eLearning initiatives, developing strategies to enhance digital proficiency among educators and students while managing key systems like Moodle and Teams.In 2023, I tackled the challenge of managing the School of STEM and Sport. Through targeted interventions, staff training, and meticulous standards implementation, we turned around the school's performance, achieving a 'Good' Ofsted rating with significant improvements noted in STEM.Educational credentials include an MSc in Computer Science, PGCE in Secondary Business Studies, BA (HONS) in Business Studies, and a Level 4 Certificate in Leading the IQA of Assessment Processes and Practices. I left Stanmore college in July 2024 to take some time off to complete some personal pursuits but I am now looking for an interim or part-time role where I can continue to influence education through providing innovative solutions and expert management.
