• Lead legal aspects of the development of and presentation of the CoorsTek, Inc.’s global intellectual property strategy • Administer global IP policy (patent, trademark, invention, trade secret, etc.)• Responsible for implementation and management of strategic intellectual property portfolio planning and management strategies, including: development and implementation of U.S. and International patent and trademark procurement strategies and trade secret management; consideration of licensing or acquisitions, joint development, as appropriate• Oversee and/or manage IP/Technology repository including the Technology Knowledge Management Specialist• Manage competitive IP intelligence including the gathering of intelligence and disruption of blocking technology of third parties• Manage invention submission and review processes, active involvement with internal product development teams and evaluation of patentability of proposed innovations; freedom to operate and other IP related opinions• Manage trademark portfolio, copyright submissions, and domain name registrations• Conduct routine IP portfolio and trade secret audits• Oversee and conduct IP Due Diligence and resolve issues relating to M&A/Divestment activity, as required; provide transactional/commercial support as needed • Manage outside IP counsel/consultants/services and internal IP staff• Create and implement IP training and education• Manage IP litigation and participate in formulation of offensive and defensive strategies for lawsuits and disputes • Manage CoorsTek’s product liability-insurance subrogation claims related to household durables• Manage other litigation as needed• Provide general litigation support for all commercial litigation matters including pleading and subpoena responses

Mr. Cha has represented clients in protecting, enforcing, and capitalizing intellectual property rights (patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret) including litigation, arbitration, prosecution (procurement), counseling, licensing, and mergers and acquisitions. He has litigated patent infringement cases involving securities trading systems, replacement heart valve technologies, hand-held therapeutic laser systems, meat processing technologies, RAID storage devices, high speed Ethernet systems, and design patents.
