As Kerax’s financial controller I am responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts & year-end completion in advance of audit. I am responsible for the day to day management of the company’s finance, recording the progress of work & staff, reporting my findings to the CEO. I manage the finance team ensuring that the work is accurate & meets recommended standards. I ensure that the staff know what tasks need to be done & the deadlines they need to complete them by. We manage Kerax’s financial transactions ensuring that there is a backup kept on file and all information is correctly recorded. I also supervise & mentor an apprentice as they take their accountancy exams. The main part of my finance role involves reviewing VAT, PAYE and PIID submissions and overseeing the payroll processing. I also manage the internal HR issues before referring to 3rd party HR company. This involves meeting with the other departments to gather information needed for finance, check on staff progress and discuss any issues that arise.I also record the minutes at the monthly board meetings where we discuss Kerax’s progress as a company, what the next month’s goals are and any miscellaneous issues that may come up. This might involve giving my opinion on how we spend the businesses money such as providing training to staff or new product development All of the information the finance department use has to be up to date and filled in correctly so I take extra care to ensure that nothing has been missed and proofread all documentation before they are filed. The best part of doing my job is the variety each day brings and seeing how my contribution has helped with the company’s success.I also enjoy the responsibility of managing the finance of the business.

I worked at Graham Thornton UK LLP as the Audit Executive.I was in charge of planning audit programs under clarity ISAs. While I was working at RSM Tenon Limited (formerly Tenon Limited) I was the audit assistant through to audit senior.Under the training contract I studied to gain my AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) & ACA (Association of Chartered Accountants) qualifications becoming AAT qualified in August 2009 and ACA qualified in December 2011.
