Upon returning to Lyndon I took the role of Site Supervisor for our London depot running a centrally located site for our client MACE. The site was situated on Moorgate in the heart of the financial district, consequently this required some very detailed planning due to the type of access scaffolds and logistics.Transferring to our North-West depot at the end of 2014 I have continuously worked on variouslarge scale projects.From October 2017 to November 2020 I was Airside Supervisor on Manchester Airport.This is a role which I have thoroughly enjoyed, working closely with the principle contractor, their sub contactors (conveyor installers, steel erectors and electricians). Daily activities include providing up to date information to our workforce by way of meetings and tool box talks. In addition, ensuring risk and method statements are up to date and relevant to the task and harness inspections. I also complete weekly and monthly safety audits and provide feedback to our SHEQ department.To date myself and the scaffolders have contributed to over 13,000 safe working hours.The final project I undertaken was at Toddbrook Reservoir, Whaley Bridge. This comprised of two live load bearing access scaffolds to allow drilling rigs to complete test bore holes of up to 40m.

Accepting the role of Contracts Manager, I was given the lead to set up a brand new division of Interserve access. I carried this role with great professional and personnel pride. Unfortunately changes at board level and a restructuring process the division as with others was shut down.

On returning to Lyndon Scaffolding I was tasked with leading a large group of Scaffolders on erecting, at the time, the UK's longest temporary roof on Fiddlers Ferry power station.Leading on from completing the roof I took the role as Scaffold Inspector on the power stations FGD project for the next twelve months. from there I worked for various depots but mainly in the North West and London region, working on MTV Camden, St Ermins hotel in Westminster which was very valuable experience to work to important deadlines and high interactivity with the public.Completing my time in London and at Lyndon I mainly worked on Transmission projects for Balfour Beatty providing me very challenging line crossing scaffolds.

Moving to a smaller company to take on a opportunity to have my own gang and run sites, I begun to learn more about what is needed of a Chargehand Scaffolder, from preparing load lists, liaising with clients at site level and having more involvement in health and safety.

Continuing to work on major projects I improved technically due to the type of work I was involved, in particular restoration projects such as the M6 Thelwall viaduct bearing replacement scheme and the refurbishment of the grade 1 listed John Rylands library in Manchester city centre.

Progressing on from Trainee to Fixer I gained experience in what is required for erecting and striking of scaffolds and a better understanding of health and safety. I worked on many projects during my time at Interserve such as Astra Zeneca (Pharmaceutical premises Macclesfield) and the 2002 Commonwealth Games ( Construction and media phases)to name but two.

Carrying on learning the basics I worked in London for Trad Scaffolding and in the North West for other national companies.

Learning the basics of the scaffolding industry, I begun working on small domestic scaffolds, small building sites and town streetwork.
