In this role my key tasks included leading several elements of the Practices for Business Excellence (PfBE) programme. I was heavily involved in coordinating and completing corporate training needs analysis, developing pilots and the launch of new programmes to various clients within the AME, CME, PDE and STA functions. I was also involved in the maintenance of the on-line repository (E-Learning) and SharePoint). The course content that I delivered/created and coordinated included Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, mentoring, failure mode avoidance, risk analysis, business improvement, operations management and designing and development of new course content.

Within this role I provide services for major organisations in areas such as Supply Chain Management, Lean Manufacturing Tools and Techniques, Systems Audit (TS16949, ISO9001, ISO14001), Project Management, and Organisational Development Consultancy.

I supervised a number of Masters students within the areas of Project Management, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Business and E-commerce and Enterprise Business Management. It was a great role and give me the opportunity to assist some of our 'bright young things' in achieving their goals and potential.

In this role I taught on the Postgraduate programmes; my time was mainly spent within the area of Leadership development. I worked on the Global Leadership Development programme which proved to be very exciting. This consisted of market segmentation, operations management, and Financial Decision making to an international audience.

In this role and under the area of work-based learners I have trained over 26 Jaguar Land Rover cohorts (425 individuals) who are employed at the new engine plant in the West Midlands area. The modules that I created/coordinated and delivered included: Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Business behaviours, Business Improvement Techniques, Plant Layout, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Quality Management Systems, Financial Decision Making, Design Attributes, Engineering Machining, Engineering Materials, and Assembly processes. I also created curriculum material for the BTEC HNC level courses (Quality and Project Management modules). I also completed the Certified assessors course, which allows me to operate as a registered External Verifier.Within the BTEC courses that I also worked on I delivered programmes in the areas of Mechanical, Manufacturing, Automotive and Design and Manufacturing Engineering. The actual modules covered included Mechanical Principles, Materials Engineering, Electronics, Secondary Machining Processes, Computer Aided Design (AutoCAD and Solid works), Mechanical Principles, and Materials Science. Starting Work in Engineering; and Working in Teams.

My role at Aston Business School was to support Undergraduate students who were on placements at Blue Chip organisations. My responsibility was mentoring them and assisting them in becoming assets to their organisations.

Managing overall projects through relevant phases. Ensure project team and stakeholders realise the overall objectives throughout the various phases. Ensure project costs, selection of suppliers and outsourcing initiatives comply with the overall project budget. Plan and conduct milestone reviews. Perform risk assessment for each project phase. Evaluate core team performance and report at Senior management level. Facilitate problem solving exercises and implement lessons learnt.

Delivering projects through various phases, ensuring future vehicle programmes were capable of delivering on the following criteria: attributes, weight, finance, quality and manufacturing targets. Supporting the delivery through each gateway phase and beyond. Helping to resolve various technical issues that occurred. Working with the Marketing and Product Strategy teams to determine programme features by understanding Global markets. Investigating and understanding alternative solutions to enable the delivery of multiple products from a single new vehicle architecture using a common bill of process (Commonisation of processes and tools).

Providing rigorous teaching problem solving approaches (i.e. methods and techniques), provided principles and theoretical backgrounds that underpinned these techniques. Delivered research methodology concepts. I also applied statistical analysis methods that included graphical presentation through the application of software packages (i.e. MINITAB). Application of system and process approaches: such as Total Quality Management, Balanced scorecard, ISO 9000, the Business Excellence Model (EFQM), Six Sigma. Facilitate team working tasks for team members.

Initiated cost reduction programmes, facilitated Supplier Development activities. I was heavily involved in the Supplier Development processes and Launch review meetings. Audited supplier premises for quality & volumes plus initiaited in-house supplier training & development. Applied various problem resolution methodologies to reduce process inefficiencies.

Teaching Modules include: Quality Management, Customer Services, Project Management, Personal Development. Supporting the Business Department by engaging in research, course development and scholarly. Contributing towards Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching curriculum. Staying abreast of the various subject specialist areas, contributing to the department's external activities (i.e. Company –in-house training and work based development programmes).Supervision of individual project work of undergraduate and postgraduate students. Collaborating with course team members in the development of courses, teaching materials and teaching methods and undertake the examining and assessment of student's assignments.

The role involved me liaising with clients to agree key delivery dates, manage cross-functional teams, provide leadership and coaching to team members, communicate project progress to stakeholders. Visited supplier premises and analysed their processes to ensure timing plans were robust, ensured cost ratios and dates were achievable. Facilitated cross-functional and assisted them achieve delivery times etc. Ensured accurate communication links were established and maintained throughout the supply chain. Provided strong leadership and coaching to help ensure team members’ contribution towards the overall task.

Completion of System audits and procedure modifications to meet ISO 14001: 2004 and ISO 9001: 2000, Process Mapping, ensuring Launch Readiness activities were completed prior to production facilitated Design and Technical Publishing Reviews. Applied Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) methodology, Value Stream Mapping, Failure Mode Effect Analysis, ensuring customer requirements were understood at the initial design & pre-production stages, implementing Quality Functional Deployment (QFD), Advanced Product Quality Process (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Initial Sample Inspection Reports (ISIR), Capability Studies, and Statistical Process Capability). Organising and facilitating machine Teardown/Reverse Engineering events with Cross-Functional Teams, Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) events, Kaizen initiatives and Process flow. Application of Six Sigma methodologies to unstable areas of the business (such as sample inspection, warranty, change management processes, plus despatching of products process).

Reduced commodity costs, facilitated product improvement meetings, benchmarked competitors & best in class products and services, monitored program timing, organized idea generation events, facilitated cross- functional teams, completed project post-mortems. Created documentation such as master process schedules to ensure milestones and back-spikes were highlighted and appropriately addressed. Analysed commercial and design data in line with commodities. Organised facilities & resources for 'Kick-off' Phases & 'Big events' meetings (with cross-functional team members such as: vehicle dealers, finance, marketing and publications).Converted Lessons Learned theories and methods into future team project deliverables (these events included the application of Six Sigma Tools & Continuous Improvement techniques).
