- Responsible for running, maintenance, and continuous enhancement of CROP, an hourly electricity market simulation model. CROP involves dispatch, transmission, hydro scheduling, and sophisticated wind modeling, with a model footprint encompassing the northeastern power system- Provide analytical support to internal Portfolio, Trading, and Fuels clients, as well as external agencies (ie. OEB, OPA, IESO, MoE), typically involving data mining, mathematical and simulation modeling, statistical analysis, and presentations on short timescales, at times with a focus on renewable energy issues- Conduct and delivered special studies as needed to upper management concerning issues relevant to the Ontario electricity sector, to enhance operational and strategic decision making

- Provide input to the development of alternatives, gather data, and conduct technical and economic evaluations of investment alternatives, asset valuation and project financing analyses- Create, modify, document and maintain economic, engineering, financial, power system and other models used to evaluate major projects/strategic initiatives, long range planning, forecasting, scenario planning and production simulations- maintain an up-to-date corporate view on electricity generation options, costs and characteristics, as well as power system economic values for use in modeling and evaluations- coordinate and assemble data, and conduct analysis in support of reporting to external agencies (e.g., OEB, IESO, OPA, NPCC).

- Designed and implemented a fundamental model of Ontario & US wind generation in MATLAB, simulating known wind sites and incorporating temporal & spatial correlation, to provide leading-edge capability to generate high-quality wind scenarios for long-term planning and Monte Carlo simulations

Promote reliability of the Northeastern power system through the coordination of NPCC Area planning processes and activities, representing Ontario Power Generation on the Task Force Coordination Planning.

- Provide consultation and feedback to students to improve their written and oral communication skills, supporting courses in all engineering disciplines- Teach various forms of engineering communication such as briefing documents for MPs, impromptu presentations, and consulting proposals to groups of students- Serve as project manager for student design teams, managing timelines and providing feedback on project documents before submission to industry clients

- Six Sigma green-belt certification, provided similar training to key suppliers- Implemented Webplan software site-wide, improved supply-chain decision making & metric accuracy, identified inventory savings opportunities in excess of $1M- Identified root cause of part failures via drawing specs, military/industry standards, process parameters, and consulting with manufacturing engineers, technicians, and suppliers- Pursued corrective action with suppliers when necessary, arbitrated disputes via teleconference and site visits.

- Designed a patent-pending ball-bearing AC motor bracket system to fix premature wear- Developed new product lines - Managed 3 research projects concurrently, authoring SRED and IRAP reports to reclaim R&D expenses from the Government of Canada, recouping some investment costs

- Developed decision-making tool to aid in prioritizing regulatory audit methods- Implemented database to improve departmental access to on-site information resources
