Jounce Partners is an education non-profit committed to ensuring that low-income students receive a world-class education.At Jounce, three beliefs guide us:1) Teacher quality is the most important driver of student learning. 2) Teacher quality is not fixed – teachers can get better, and with effective coaching, they can get better fast.3) School leaders should spend the vast majority of their time on what matters most – which means they should spend most of their time either directly developing teachers or building their teams' teacher development skills.Our mission is to prepare school leaders to rapidly increase the effectiveness of their teachers and, in turn, to accelerate the learning of their students. We support current leaders at existing high-poverty schools through school partnerships and have also partnered with established principalship pipeline programs. We have launched a School Leader Fellowship to prepare future school leaders to apply for and open new urban charter schools built on the Jounce teacher development model; the first Jounce Fellow-led school opened in Memphis in summer 2016.
