With more than 25 years’ experience in the building industry, Paul de Podolinsky has developed a passion for delivering high quality, detailed and sophisticated architecture. Paul has led an extensive portfolio of projects with particular expertise in commercial buildings, refurbishing existing buildings, educational projects, large scale workspace environments, residential and retail sectors.With origins in the construction industry as a structural technician, Paul encompasses an ‘all-round’ ability combined with a multitude of architectural practice experience in Australia, Denmark and Germany. His strength lies in establishing strategic direction and leading project delivery from initial design concepts through to completion of works, managing staff and project teams. Pauls’ trait is listening to and collaborating with clients to identify priorities and a clear vision which formulate unique solutions that respond to the complexity of the brief. He tests all aspects of the brief and budget, compiled with technical expertise to achieve effective solutions. Devoted interest in producing environmental architecture, has seen Paul become the Sustainability Leader within the industry. He has conducted extensive research in the areas of retrofitting and repositioning existing commercial and institutional buildings, and educational facilities. Paul has successfully integrated sustainable design principles across his portfolio of works, ensuring every project contains a holistic balance of economically sound values, integrates social awareness and environmental consciousness.Paul is a ‘deep thinker’ when it comes to producing the ‘poetics’ of architecture that has an ‘effect’ on the end user. He believes design consists of layers of meanings derived from realising the problem, the conflicts, the context and references to significant elements, which comprise meaning and identity in the resolved solution.
