With over two decades of experience, Paul has advised venture capital, private equity, and limited partner investors, along with their portfolio companies, across all industries as they pursue growth and scale.In the energy sector, Paul served as Chief Operating Officer for the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), managing a $2 billion budget to drive the international commercialization of advanced energy solutions such as biofuels, solar, wind, and efficiency technologies. Additionally, he held the role of Chief of Staff for the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service at the U.S. Department of Commerce, overseeing the daily operations of a 1,700-member workforce across 260 offices globally and directing the implementation of international trade priorities and policies.Prior to joining Mintz, Paul was a partner at an international law firm, where he launched the firm’s energy technology practice in 2008.As a licensed CPA and FINRA-accredited professional, Paul is a published author and a frequent media contributor on energy, politics, business, private equity, and international trade.
