Paul retired in March of 2013 as President of a custom software development company focusing primarily in Healthcare. Prior to that he was a Principal and Managing Director in a mid-sized CPA Firm. He is still active in the technology community. He has served on the Board of AITP Chicago since 1995 and has served as Chapter President numerous times. He is on the planning committees for the CIO of the Year program co-sponsored by AITP Chicago, SIM Chicago and The Executives' Club of Chicago; the CISO of the Year program led by the Chicago CISO Dinner Group and co-sponsored by AITP Chicago, SIM Chicago, ISSA Chicago, ISACA Chicago and InfraGard Chicago; and the "Most Effective IT Team Award, sponsored by AITP Chicago.Prior to joining the software development company in 2004, Paul served as a Managing Director at American Express Tax and Business Services and as a Principal at Checkers, Simon and Rosner LLP, a Chicago based CPA firm. During his career, he has managed and delivered engagements covering all areas of Information Technology (IT) - IT Strategic Planning, Process Design, ERP Systems Selection & Implementation, Infrastructure Design & Implementation, Application Design & Development and Internet Design & Development. Before being “seduced to the dark side” (technology), Paul, a CPA, started on the audit staff of Touche Ross & Co and had a successful career as a "Big 6" auditor and as a financial executive directing the finance and risk management operations of a manufacturing company with operations here and in Europe. Paul has a BS in Accountancy from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a MA in Economics from Northern Illinois University.
