I served as Chief of Emergency Medicine within Kaiser Permanente for the San Diego region. I am comfortable navigating a large and complicated healthcare system. I have honed the leadership skills needed to steer a large team of over three hundred physicians, nurses and staff who are working in a high pressure, emotional and unpredictable environment that operates 24 hours a day. To improve operations and remain in budget, my team and I configured better workflows, implemented software strategies, and built up our staffing to create efficiencies that improved patient care and provider wellness. Over, the past four years I have advised startups at CONNECT and helped launch the inaugural San Diego Angel Conference. I love to work with passionate founders looking to solve big problems and funding them to turn ideas into reality. I am happiest when I am helping founders get funded and learning about their ventures. At Wharton, I improved my managerial and investment skills by learning from the top professors on the planet and expanded my network among our world-class student body. I raised several rounds of investment for companies that classmates launched and advised several classmates on products they were devising in software and health tech. Here, I became comfortable with corporate valuation, finance, capital markets, venture, domestic and emerging PE, communication, corporate tax, and mergers and acquisitions.
