As the Assistant Manager of one of our five local establishments, I am responsible and accountable for virtually everything a successful retail business needs to do to sustainably thrive in today’s economy.  Employee Training Manager: I train and indoctrinate all employees upon hire and throughout their employment on company patent history, business protocol including sales, unprecedented customer service skills, and product knowledge consisting of outdoor survival and recreation gear as well as technical rock climbing equipment. Rental Department Manager: I maintain the rental equipment inventory and gear issue accountability, run the rental computer program, personally perform equipment repairs in house, and provide proper fitting and instruction for optimum equipment utilization.  Customer Service: I regularly conduct research for customers in regards to trip planning, focusing primarily on applying and registering for various outdoor permits, best directions and navigation, what laws and restrictions apply in the given destination, the appropriate type and use of technical gear, and the cost benefit analysis of such high end products considering every angle of usability and functionality by asking all relevant questions and inquiring to the intended goal and bottom line of the customer. Additional Duties: I supervise and manage the employees and store, delegate duties and projects, conduct new hire interviews, plan and organize visual merchandizing, direct marketing and outreach at local businesses and social media, submit routine reports to the manager and corporate office, maintain a budget and sales goals, track inventory and transfers, host public educational clinics, and volunteer for conservation and restoration projects with local parks and other public lands.
