I am a technologist and entrepreneur whose passion is building businesses that deliver technology solutions to customers. Over the past 20-odd years I have worked in B2B and B2C, product and consultancy, across many different business domains. A common thread throughout this time is delivering large-scale web-based 'enterprise grade' systems utilising Sun/Java technology in the first 12 years and cloud platforms such as AWS, force.com/Lightning Platform, heroku and others since 2009.Another common thread is building self-organising teams to deliver value in the face of continuous change. I ran the first eXtreme Programming project in the UK in 1997 and have utilised many of the XP practices, as well as other lean and agile techniques, in blue-chip corporations as well as much smaller organisations, for long running projects and with large and off-shore teams. At Singletrack I established the development, support and PS teams before support and PS were spun out into a separate Client Success function, and owned the product for 12 years before handing over to our new CSO. I maintain responsibility for the development team which has built two market-leading enterprise SaaS products for the Capital Markets. Our growing global customer base particularly recognises and appreciates the pace of product evolution and innovation that we continually deliver.I'm a very occasional speaker and co-founded the highly popular FFSTechConf conference in 2018, building on experience of organising and chairing a number of different conferences in the '90s. I'm an enthusiastic supporter of, and sometime advisor to/investor in, technology startups.I spit my time between working in London and Newcastle and living in Northumberland.
