Responsible for the evaluating and defining Solution Architectures for the Logistics and Supply Chain Domain. Project have included the implementation of Knapp and Duerkopp Automation Systems into the existing Warehouse Systems (Manhattan WMS), DC infrastructure refresh, and integration of new Freight Forwarder.

Accountable for the technical delivery and 24/7 operation of all software product and service within the Retail organisation. Leading a team of Architects, Software Engineers, Quality Assurance Engineers, Platform Engineers and third-party software providers (aaS) to deliver and maintain high quality software products and services that are secure, stable and scalable.

I successfully lead the definition and governance of key Enterprise and Solution Architectures delivered via strategic IT programmes/ projects. I championed the use of vanilla Oracle Retail, Financials and HR as SaaS applications within the large business transformation programme. I skillfully defined the transition and end-state architectures, including system contexts, service blueprints and RICEFW catalogues leading to £30M cost savings. I strategically managed the deployment of the IBM Sterling Order Management across multiple suppliers and system integrators to ensure effective integration with Knapp warehouse management and control systems. I drove the definition of the target architecture and transition states, as well as a team of 5 architects to deliver enterprise solutions aligned with client requirements.

I successfully developed the 4 years’ Strategy and Roadmap for Retail IT, encompassing a Component Business Model with strategic remediation projects and transformational programmes. I efficiently spearheaded the deployment of the new Coop Membership solution across 2880 retail stores within established timeline, budget and client requirements. I managed the rollout of a new HR system (Oracle Fusion HCM) by leveraging strong solution architecture skills.

I initiated, developed, and implemented the Reference Architecture for an ITT process to select and deploy Oracle as the Enterprise Resource Planning system, Manhattan as the Warehouse System, and Hybris as the multi-channel commerce platform. I acted as the Technical Design Authority for Customer facing systems including SAP Hybris, Cybersource and Experian.I led the RFI and RFP process to successfully replace all retail, financial services and logistics solutions.I successfully drove delivery of complex retail solutions for Jacamo and SimplyBe stores, as well as a new Web Content Management System for N Brown websites.

Technical Architect responsible for establishing the blueprint for the Summary Care Record Programme – within the NHS National Programme for Information Technology  Developed Architectural Principles for the Connecting for Health Directorate Provided technical expertise and guidance to third-parties providers (EMIS and TPP) of GP Systems on integrating with the NHS Spine Systems

As one of only 5 Principal Consultants I was responsible for coordinating technical teams in support of significant customer solutions (£1m+ value) and for establishing best practices for Application Lifecycle Management. During this period, engagements I led included: Zurich Insurance – Application Lifecycle Management in support of over 300+ developers working across multiple world time zones Capital One – helping their corporate Architecture function to adopt industry best practices  William Hill – establishing application performance management and lifecycle management for mission critical online trading services (in an environment where even momentary failures can cost millions) Sun Microsystems – engaged by one of the world’s (then) leading technology suppliers to work with their customers on specialist engagements  Personnel responsibilities included recruitment, mentoring and performance/career management Developed strong communication skills including the ability to explain technical solutions to business leaders in common language Worked extensively on client sites throughout the UK in order to promote enhanced collaborative teamwork
