• Energy Manager for Kodak’s 57 acre manufacturing site in Harrow, UK, responsible for the generation strategy of a 17.5MWe Combined Heat and Power plant providing; Power, HP & LP Steam, Glycol, Chilled Water and Compressed Air. • I had direct responsibility for the purchase of all fuel, power and water for Kodak Ltd totaling £10 million/yr. Contract managing all the key utility contracts using fixed and flexible purchasing techniques.• I developed Lean Manufacturing techniques for use in energy management and auditing. • I had responsibility for advising senior Kodak management on Legislation, Energy Trends and Energy Markets to enable full compliance, and to favourably position Kodak in response to external influences on the energy budget.• I reported and maintained all site legislative issues relating to the site and power plant including ISO 14001, Environment Agency PPC, Local Authority Authorisations, Climate Change Levy (CHPQA) and EU Emissions Trading.• I managed the site water balance including managing an inset with a supplier external to the local area. I managed the 2 abstraction boreholes on site and negotiated abstraction license levels with the Environment Agency. • I led the site Energy Management program, reporting on site performance, costs, and usage to senior management. I rolled out an education program to create an energy aware workforce.• Kodak was a member of the Major Energy Users Council and I sat on the Gas Strategy Team
• Within a 24/7 manufacturing environment I was responsible for key coating and drying equipment used in the production of photographic paper for EAMER.• This included management of maintenance and process improvement projects based on statistical process control and lean manufacturing principles. • As part of the Kodak Operating System I used techniques such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, and Kan Ban.• I was trained and certified management blackbelt level.• I led teams consisting of shift workers through to senior managers on Kaizen improvement projects.• I was responsible for the safety and environmental risks associated with key equipment including COSHH, method statements, risk assessments, HAZOP studies etc. • I led product development teams relevant to my areas of responsibility.• I project managed large capital works involving the design, procurement, and installation of key manufacturing equipment, circa £500k.
