My specialty is connecting people and businesses with one another for their mutual benefit. Whether it is matching businesses with exhibit partners, service providers to clients in need or prospects with suppliers, where there is alignment there is business. In business there has to be a match, a problem to be solved and chemistry. Life, either personal or professional is the alignment of timing and chemistry. That's where I come in: my ability to formulate, build and direct a network of those in need to those with expertise is what I provide. I network for a living. And along the way enhance the lives of those participating. I represent companies, my associates. You can call me a business development director or a contract sales person or a vice president of marketing. In the end it is about matchmaking. My hot buttons are companies that practice ageism, needless egotists and people who don't read beyond the first line of anything.Call, write or text me. Let's talk about how to build your business--whichever side of the equation you are on.

Director, Events & Relationship ManagementNorth Dallas Chamber Of Commerce 2013 - 2015Dallas, Texas, UsWhen I signed on with the North Dallas Chamber in 2013, I was given the assignment of saving two challenged programs (Young Professionals and Technology Conference), asked to revitalize an old program (the Expo) and take on a new, yet-to-be-defined project (which became the Big D BBQ Battle). Along the way I was also asked to integrate an outside program (1st Tuesday Connections). When I left, they were content-rich, functioning programs on the verge of being profitable.Producer and staff lead on the Big D BBQ Battle, April 2014 and 2015, a foundation event at the Dallas Midtown development. Created and managed the overall plan, developed the venue layout, hired and managed suppliers and logistics, controlled and managed all permitting, sold space, managed teams and guests, instigated and managed key partnerships and relationships (meat acquisition, beer supplier, ice provider, radio and social media, for example), managed overall budget. In year 2, the BBQ grew from 27 to 46 teams, utilized radio and digital media promotion and featured local beer, local meat and a national musical act.Worked to acquire and integrate 1st Tuesday Connections into the Chamber's stable of regular programming. Staff liaison to the committee for content and logistics for this important monthly program.Chamber staff liaison for the NDCC's Young Professionals group. Successfully transitioned group to a working committee. Rescued the program over 2 years and refocused it on content and general chamber participation rather than hierarchy and organization.Successfully transplanted the annual Building Business Expo into Valley View Center to support the Dallas Midtown project, May 2013.Inherited a struggling Technology Conference and worked on repositioning content and alignment with critical sponsors.Supported the repositioning of the quarterly Networking Skills Workshop.Regular contributor to the social media marketing of the Chamber, its members and programs. -
Economic Development Coordinator And ConsultantGarland Chamber Of Commerce 2012 - 2015Garland, Tx, UsThe Garland Chamber of Commerce directly impacts the economy of the City of Garland, Texas. One-third of the Garland Economic Development Partnership (GEDP), it interacts with and understands the businesses and people that make up the Garland community. From Day 1 in this position, I was able to open a strategic plan and know what was expected of me and also see how my work impacted the community. With retention and workforce being my areas of focus, I got to know the major companies (mostly manufacturers) and worked directly with the school district and community college. Getting to know the employers and their issues, for example, allowed me to, with a team of educators, create a job shadowing program for high school students. The key to improving the workforce is to connect the classroom with the workplace. From formulation to a matching process to the actual execution of the job shadowing day itself, we successfully connected students to employers and changed the mindsets of all included.Prior to my stint as a formal staff member, I was a consultant to the CEO on a retained basis. -
