Every day is a challenge and this requires agility and a sure thoughtful understanding of what a Client requires. Whether you are dealing with multi million Projects or a single classroom extension the building is one of the most important investment decisions that the Client will make. It embeds the aspiration, hope and anticipation of an organisation and it has always been a pleasure to support them in this journey. With over 30 years of experience in the Construction industry I have learnt that the most important element in the design process is the clear definition of goals and ensuring that these are all agreed and understood by the parties involved.I believe that the our design of building services should be as efficient as possible and designed to deliver for their full life with good access for maintenance and ultimately replacement. This may sound mundane but after the initial impact of the architecture the value and usefulness of a property will be established by the flexibility and comfort of the space established by the building services. In all design the importance of sustainability, low energy design needs to be integrated. I view this as a four step process: 1 Design the building right (insulation, orientation, a passive measures etc), 2 Systems to be as efficient as possible ( high efficacy luminaires, efficient fans, etc.), 3 Use sustainable technologies to input (Wind turbines, solar thermal, solar electric, biomass, etc.), 4 Ensure that the Users and Operators understand the building and use and maintain it to its highest efficiency.Projects have been spread around the globe including Pakistan, India, East Africa, Kuwait, South Africa, Viet Nam, Bermuda, USA, France, Libya, Spain, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, United Kingdom and IrelandSpecialties: Trained as a Building Services Engineer (M&E) I would say my bias is mechanical. I have however led and presented multi disciplinary teams and have a full appreciation of most elements of a building.I have worked in the following sectors: Hospitality, Commercial, Offices, MoD, Education, Pharma, Facility Management, Domestic, Industrial, Banking/Dealers, High Resilience Facilities, Expert Witness, Health, Prisons, Police, Museums/Galleries
