I am a senior legal counsel practising in the area of administrative law and professional regulation. In addition to continuing my career as a prosecutor I advise and consult with professional regulators on their disciplinary processes and on the investigation and prosecution of complaints of professional misconduct.

The Financial Services Tribunal is an independent, adjudicative body composed of nine to 15 members, including the Chair and two Vice-Chairs. The Tribunal has exclusive jurisdiction to exercise the powers conferred under the Financial Services Commission of Ontario Act, 1997 and other Acts that confer powers on or assign duties to the Tribunal. It also has exclusive jurisdiction to determine all questions of fact or law that arise in any proceeding before it. Prior to appointment to the Financial Services Tribunal I served as Chair of the Advisory Board for the Financial Services Commission for 11 years.

As Senior Counsel Professional Conduct to this self regulating professional organization I was responsible for overseeing investigations of complaints against members of the profession and for prosecuting charges where warranted. I have extensive experience in professional regulation and have spoken often to lawyers and regulators on issues pertaining to administrative law and professional discipline. I have appeared before administrative tribunals, the Divisional Court and the Ontario Court of Appeal on professional discipline matters. Most recently I was appointed as a member of the Financial Services Tribunal, an independent adjudicative body with exclusive jurisdiction to exercise the powers conferred under the Financial Services Commission of Ontario Act, 1997. I am a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association and an advisory member to the Board of Directors of Stevenson Memorial Hospital in Alliston serving on the Governance Committee.
