Having enjoyed a great career supporting, managing and leading various staff from workshop to field engineering to call centre operatives, I have taken the decision after 37 years to have a change of career and follow a passion of pre-hospital care and support on front line ambulance and event work. I am currently undertaking a rigorous training path of FREC 3, FREC 4, SALM, AET, and then on to AAP, CERAD (and who knows where from there) to be able to support people when they need it most and hopefully do the best I can to help save lives. If you have a dream, a passion then never be afraid to follow it. You may have to make some tough decisions and may have to sacrifice but follow your heart and work with what you have and with those around you, who support you to make the best of it.

The organisation is non-profit making and is really there to serve as a resource to our chosen voluntary and paid sector. It is an opportunity for us to try and capture that "family feeling" that many, if not all First Aid volunteers feel and open it up to a wider audience. If we manage to do that then we have simply achieved the goal we have set out to do. I just want to mention a fellow First Aider, Harry Decker who, through his hard work and dedication, not only supports British Red Cross but also supports First Aid Central in helping me to keep this project going. His support and commitment has paid dividends in growing the web site and forum and helping it go from strength to strength. Harry, thanks pal, your work is second to none my friend!! Show less
