Paul contracted to Coles Myer in their Store Systems Infrastructure team.Key Activities:- Infrastructure Lifecycle management of the in-store technology installed across all Coles Myer businesses.- Vendor liason to establish their product roadmaps- Transition planning for each CML business to leverage the technology trends in the market.- Product selection through RFP's including: Electronic Shelf Labels, Point of Sale, Scanners, Servers and PC's.

Key Achievements:- Managed State Sales office VIC/SA - 6 people- Worldsmart Retech supplies full back office and Point of sale solutions for Grocery, Hospitality and Fuel/Convenience markets.- Recruitment of 2 new sales people, 2 pre-sales support people- won a major new contract with United Petroleum to implement retail systems into their Head Office and approx 120 Petrol stations.

Key Achievements- Implemented a new Channel Partner Program for Symbol Aust/NZ- Ensured partner solutions represented across Retail, Transport, Logistics and Warehousing.- Completed skills assessment of approx 200 resellers in Aust/NZ.- Managed a team of 4 Channel Sales Managers- Established and managed key alliance partnerships for joint business development with IBM, Fujitsu, SAP, JDA, EXE and Dexion.

Key Achievements:- Sales Leadership for the Coles Myer account.- Introduction of new software solutions: - Wavelink - RF Network Management - StoreWave - enabling E-Commerce in Myer Grace Bros and Kmart. - WaveWorks development platform for all in-store applications at Target.- Business Analysis with Coles Supermarkets of Customer Self Shopping Technologies.- Target Australia rollout of 2,500 terminals and wireless network. This project included the Project Management and implementation services, along with the development of all their in-store mobility applications using WaveWorks.- Kmart Australia installation of a new Stock Counting solution using Symbol’s Radio Frequency terminals and scanners.- New business with Coles Myer for mobility systems in 3 new Warehouses.- Myer Grace Bros. RF systems for Stock Counting and E-commerce mobility - wireless PDT's and application development for loading bay receiving and despatch.

In February 1996, Paul joined Sybase Australia where he was responsible for sales of Databases, Middleware and Tools to companies in the Finance, Insurance and Stock Broking markets. The highlight of 1996 was the sale of a large database and replication licence to ANZ Treasury to support their Global Treasury Operations. This established ANZ as a new account for Sybase.
