Worked as part of an engineering team for a small technology startup involved in Dod funded projects. Projects included SBIR Phase I and II programs researching path and motion planning for mobile robots. Multiple projects done using Omni-directional platform (Mecanum drive).

Hired into Saturn Electronics (acquired by Flextronics 2014) to help lead a team of engineers that was working with DEKA (Manchester, NH). Team was setup to develop the next generation (Gen II) of balancing wheelchair, under contract by Johnson and Johnson. Led team of engineers to develop a low-cost, robust, multi-processor, distributed control system capable of controlling the wheel-chair. Many of the concepts demonstrated were eventually utilized in the early Segway scooters. After this project I supported a variety of internal and external programs for the automotive sector including diesel emissions control, active differential control EOL test systems and contract manufacturing support. Led implementation of installation/deployment of enterprise-wide PDM systems (Agile Software - Oracle).

Design engineer working on advanced distributed digital control systems for commercial and racing programs. Many years spent supporting Ford's Formula 1 program (Benetton, 1989 - 1994). Part of team that implemented enhanced driver aids including active suspension, four-wheel steer and electronic throttle control. After the FIA banned drivers aids I worked on development of an advanced generic electronic controller including an early implementation of a PowerPC with an FPU with dual Analog Devices DSP's as slaves. Inspiration for this project was to massively simplify software development via use of an FPU and slave DSP's
