As the Grants & Contracts Officer for the College of Pharmacy, I coordinate single and multi-investigator grant proposals to support PharmD and Ph.D. faculty investigators. Working directly with faculty, I help identify funding opportunities (Federal/non-Federal), lead/assist with proposal development, writing, and other pre-Award activities including acting as a liaison with other University offices (e.g. Office of Sponsored Projects) and collaborators (subcontracts). As part of the Research Administration Office, I also assist with the submission of funding reports, internal applications for funding, faculty activity reports, and other projects as directed by the Dean's Office of the College of Pharmacy.

The Kostopulos Dream Foundation (Camp K; www.campk.org) is non-profit 501(c)(3) agency dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with disabilities through recreation, education, and growth experiences. In addition to year-round programs and activities, Camp K also offers three summer camp programs including a Residential camp, a Summer Day camp, and a Travel-based camp. As the Director of Development and Outreach for the Kostopulos Dream Foundation (Camp K; www.campk.org), my role was to serve as a fundraiser, primarily through grant writing, but also through solicitations/donations of cash and in-kind services. In addition to general fundraising activities, I also contributed to the Marketing, Public Relations, and Operations efforts including, but not limited to:• Represent Camp K at events (e.g. Utah Nonprofit Association's Nonprofit Day on the Hill)• Draft promotional flyers (e.g. gala, "Concert in the Canyon") and update Camp K website• Assist efforts in recruiting volunteers and promoting social media campaigns• Write press releases, newsletters, programs, and provide media support• Draft internal documents (e.g. job descriptions, team meeting/board subcommittee meeting notes)

While at Amirsys, I served on the team responsible for the development and release of the online, educational resource, AnatomyOne (www.anatomyone.com). In addition to authoring chapters, review questions, and the OneLook glossary of nearly 4000 terms, I also provided the content review for all Anatomy and Dissector modules. Other tasks and projects included:• Attend and support sales team at academic conferences promoting AnatomyOne • Design custom course outlines for customers that facilitate adoption and use of AnatomyOne• Serve as a traditional editor for Pathology and other Amirsys content ("Reference Centers")• Critically review and assign tags to image databases for Amirsys online products

As a Board member, I assisted the Executive Director in drafting the mission statement and promotional materials. I also served as a grant writer and assisted in fundraising.

While working for CopyPress, I authored topical pharmacology articles & updated drug information articles (893 articles client approved). In addition, I also served as an editor and edited/approve submissions by writers (125+ articles client approved).

After leaving the University of Utah in 2009, I enrolled in the MBA program at the University of Utah David Eccles School of Business. During my coursework I served on an internship jointly sponsored by USTAR and the Utah Technology Council. During this internship, I researched seed funding, angel tax incentives, & tax credits (Economic Impact Study) that culminated into the BIOVision proposal.

As a Research Assistant Professor, my primary role was to conduct research in the field of Neuropharmacology with a focus on mechanisms in the brain that were involved in drug abuse and addiction. My primary focus was investigating the role of neuropeptides on psychostimulant abuse utilizing both self-administration paradigms in conjunction with microdialysis. Briefly, my activities included:• Designed and managed biochemical and behavioral experiments for the Neuropharmacology Laboratory• Served on National Study Section: Veterans Affairs Merit Review Subcommittee for Neurobiology (alcohol and drug dependence; 2007-2009)• Developed and submitted institute protocols and grant documents, and manuscripts for publication• Served as a reviewer for national and international academic journals• Served on department & university committees (Accreditation, Undergraduate Council Committee)• Lectured to undergraduate and graduate students (Pharmacology)

Following the completion of my doctorate, I sought to complement my histochemical background by exploring behavioral paradigms used to study drugs of abuse and addiction. While working at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), I obtained funding from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA; DA06057; June 2000 – June 2003) and was involved in the following:• Designed and managed experiments for Behavioral Neuropharmacology Laboratory• Co-founder/Vice President of the Organization of Postdoctoral Scientists at the UTMB• Host: NIDA Distinguished Lecture series (2001-2003) -- Guest speakers included Nobel Laureate Dr. Julius Axelrod• Co-organizer: Getting Started as a Successful Grant Writer and Academician (2002).• Lectured to graduate students (Pharmacology) and medical residents (Psychiatry)
