Recruited by US Airways to buttress team contemplating merging with American Airlines (successfully launched in 2012 and closed in December 2013). Assisted with cleaning up balance sheet, handling major corporate matters and with industry consolidation—essentially to help get the company ready for the next level. Efforts very successful…helped to refinance over $3 billion of debt, reorganized commercial legal department, supported real estate department, successful merger negotiations.

Former iCrete CEO asked that I join him to structure and monitor his family’s U.S.-based business ventures (former CEO was a wealthy Mexican national then living in Los Angeles). Role included establishing and running, with full P&L responsibility, a group of financial companies (an SEC-registered investment advisory firm, a separate private equity arm and related principal investments). Sold principal stake to co-founder; operations moved to Miami in September 2010.

Recruited by iCrete (a provider of technology and quality assurance/quality control systems to the concrete and construction industries with approximately $50M invested capital, backed by Goldman Sachs and other PE investors) to prepare the company for an IPO. Joined as General Counsel and was made COO after two months with full P&L responsibility and management responsibility for 40 employees.

NYSE-listed provider of cross-border managed data and telecom services with operations in over 70 countries. Purchased by BT (British Telecom) for approximately $1 billion cash in 2005.Member of senior management team--responsible for IT/network security, M&A, strategic alliances, legal/contract functions. Managed Infonet’s IPO in 1999 (while at Latham) and subsequent sale to BT in 2005.
