The newly formed company had a turnover in excess of £45 million in the manufacture and sales of pressroom, pre-press and electronic imaging products to the printing industry.I was responsible for sales and staff of the Leeds, Hull and Manchester branches and the national Electronic Imaging division.

After graduating, I worked for the family business which had been set up by my father Frank Heaton in 1964. The company specialised in suppling raw materials to the print and reprographic industry in the midlands and north of England. I was responsible for the sales team. During the 7 years I was there, working with my father and brother Charles we added branches in Manchester and Leicester to the existing Leeds and Hull offices, and an Electronic Imaging division. Over the same period turnover increased from £3.4million in 1991 to over £12million in 1997 resulting in the succesfull sale to Bousfield Ltd at the start of 1998
