Other projects included the structural and penetration analysis of the gears and gearbox for the supplemental power unit installed on the Comanche Helicopter. The DC-8 JTF was formed due to the continued occurrences of the cargo doors opening in flight. My analyses lead to the issuance of Airworthiness Directives (AD) for these cargo doors. I developed a new locking system, vent door system, and warning system for the doors, which ended up being the only means of compliance for the AD. I also conducted all the systems and structural analysis of four aftermarket Boeing 727 Cargo Door’s latching, locking, and warning systems. The analyses lead to the issuance of Airworthiness Directives (AD) for these cargo doors. I developed a new locking system, vent door system, and warning system for the doors, which was used as the only means of compliance for the AD.
