Sole contractor representing GDIT at the US Naval Observatory in Washington, DC, continuing the same software development work performed while contracted out from Insight Global.• Leading software projects/updates for three divisions: GPS Analysis (GPSAD), Combination & Prediction (C&P), VLBI• Updated GPSAD’s process for downloading data files they use to complete their daily software runs: a) added the ability to download via secure FTP or HTTP, and b) enabled them to download the latest version of the files as well as the old• Wrote a Python program to read in data from C&P’s software output and then evaluate a spline at each GPS Epoch• Working with the VLBI division to develop a Python module within their Health & Status website that regularly checks the health of their data servers’ RAIDs and Hard Drives

Member of the team that develops, tests, and integrates the Sonar System for the Navy’s submarine fleet. Member of the experimental astrophysics group that worked on the NASA-funded Diffuse X-ray emission from the Local galaxy (DXL) mission. The goal of the mission was to launch several photon-detecting proportional counters [PC’s] on a sounding rocket in order to observe X-Ray emission from the Local Hot Bubble and compare that to emission from within our solar system. Worked directly with Dr. Massimiliano Galeazzi of the University of Miami (UM), the Principal Investigator for the mission.• Produced/calibrated custom windows designed to limit allowable energy levels of x-rays transmitted through to PC’s• Assembled/tested pumping line used to create vacuum inside rocket section containing PC’s before launch• Contributed to the design & operation of a motorized system to dip custom windows in a Boron solution to further limit allowable energy levels of transmitted x-rays• Transported rocket payload to NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility for integration and testing in September 2015• Calibrated PC’s to ensure only events with correct energy levels were recorded• Tested/analyzed various solenoid valves to determine the best option for maintaining vacuum in PC’s before launch• Designed/built pressure system to control conditions inside PC’s from the mini-blockhouse during launch• Constructed/tested small vacuum tanks needed to transport & maintain expensive Beryllium filters used for setting allowable energy levels of x-rays transmitted through to PC’s• Transported payload from Wallops to White Sands Missile Range in early November to assemble the rocket in preparation for an early December launch date

Ostendio is a small information security and risk management software as a service (SaaS) provider that develops affordable solutions for demonstrating compliance in the healthcare industry. They offer a cloud-based compliance management platform to their customers, so they can demonstrate information security compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.• Met with CEO & COO to solve customer problems and improve communication• Analyzed platform data about weekly customer usage to create reports in Microsoft Excel using Pivot Tables/Charts• Delivered reports on weekly customer platform usage to CEO/COO• Led Quality Assurance for testing product releases/updates to company’s software platform• Facilitated use of JIRA (software development tool) across the company to improve bug/issue tracking• Used PHP script to generate a MediaWiki informational site detailing the platform and how best to use it• Reviewed and edited technical policy and procedural write-ups before they were published and released to customers• Conducted customer facing/product demonstrations at several compliance tradeshows• Assisted with communications to customers to ensure good relations were maintained

Authored a program (written in C++) for a Monte Carlo simulation designed to generate triplets of points in a sphere and calculate the distances between the points that form a triangle. Also responsible for analyzing the data the program produced, in order to directly compare the results to the analytic solution found for the probability distribution of distances for triplets of points in a sphere. This research was supervised by Dr. Michelle Parry, whose dissertation research resulted in the analytic solution used as a comparison for the program’s results. This comparison yielded a nearly perfect matchup of my program’s results with the results from Dr. Parry’s solution. Findings were presented at Longwood University’s 10th Annual Cook-Cole College Student Showcase (November 2014).Dr. Parry’s goal is to use her analytic solution in order to derive a general solution for n number of points in a sphere, not just triplets of points. This general solution could then be used to simplify aspects of nuclear and particle physics, as well as other scenarios in spherical coordinate systems with a distance-dependency. My program confirmed the accuracy of her analytic solution for triplets of points and will enable her to continue working toward a general solution.
