Overseeing a US Commercial Real Estate debt portfolio

Working in a range of areas for State Street Bank, starting in the Finance department as an AVP, progressing to VP and subsequently to MD in Enterprise Risk Management. Primary areas of focus has been on Recovery & Resolution Planning, with responsibilities for co-ordinating UK, then Europe and subsequently global initiatives spanning across legal entity, operating model, and balance sheet initiatives. Significant experience in leading global teams in the execution of cross functional projects, liaising with multiple regulatory bodies, conducting detailed financial analysis; writing detailed reports and high level exec presentations for Boards.

The London Irish Business Society (LIBS) was established in 2009 as a forum for Irish business professionals to network and share ideas. Working with CEO and COO of AIB UK on strategic projects, including disposals, balance sheet restructuring, non-core debt portfolio creation and sale, operational transformation and cost restructuring projects among others. Roles varied from project lead to team player.

Relationship Manager in Corporate Banking; completing all roles from Sales to credit analysis, structuring and negotiating legal agreements. Focus on credit to Corporate clients & PE funds, predominantly in the Hotel and Leisure sector (additional experience in health care, nurseries, property, crematoriums and horse racing sectors). Experience includes; building models to asses companies financial performance/stability including sensitivity analysis; assessing business models and risks, building debt structures to compliment findings of analysis and on-going interaction with clients and Executives of the Bank.During the 2008 Global Finance Crisis, these responsibilities pivoted towards debt restructuring and workouts as multiple defaults were experienced across the leisure portfolio. Significant experience in conducting business reviews, re-assessing debt structures to be more appropriate for risk profile and balance sheets, and completing debt for equity restructures, in order to support businesses through to recovery.

Preparing financial accounts, testing controls, cash flow reconciliation for large international banks in support of quarterly reporting and year end financial reporting.
