At Gravic, I run the products group that designs and builds a best-of-breed data replication, data integration, and data synchronization product called Shadowbase. In the Business Continuity space, Shadowbase can be used for the classic disaster recovery (uni-directional replication from a primary to a hot backup), as well as cooperative processing (bi-directional replication between active-active nodes). Shadowbase is also an enabled technology for eliminating planned downtime via Zero Downtime Migrations (ZDM).Shadowbase is also popular for data integration and synchronization, such as for feeding a data warehouse, data mart, or ODS. Shadowbase also provides application integration capabilities, such as integrating an operational system's processing with ancillary/disparate applications for real-time, event driven processing (without modifying your application code). When the data changes in ways that matter to you, Shadowbase will deliver it when and where needed. Examples include real-time business intelligence feeds, active data warehouses, security/wealth 'watch' systems, fraud detection systems, and downstream processing subsystems.The Shadowbase suite also provides various utility features such as event auditing archiving, validating the target is in synchronism with the source, and a database "OOPS" button (database activity UNDO).I also work as a Senior Fellow in the Gravic Labs Intellectual Property Group, and hold over 25 patents in the fields of data replication, data integration, data movement,and application integration.Specialties: High and Continuous Availability Business Continuity, disaster recovery, and active-active, bi-directional data replication and data integration.
