I am a broadly based and experienced scientist, technologist and systems engineer within Dstl currently technical lead for a number of programmes which utilise the Electromagnetic Spectrum. My experience ranges from a broad knowledge of military capability and operations, detailed experience of CIS and ISTAR capabilities and a deep back ground in a wide variety EM spectrum related subjects. EM Spectrum use is pervasive within MOD capability and in my roles I have advised a wide variety of programmes at a system of systems level and acted as technical lead for many projects. My experience covers R&D, operational support, evaluation and testing, and acquisition of Systems and services, system level anomaly investigation as well as formulation of high level strategy and policy. Work has encompassed RF Communications across all frequency bands (HF-EHF), all aspects of Spectrum management, RF effectors/weapons and to a lesser extent other uses of the EM spectrum. Other expertese include software project management and assurance and technical risk. In addition to the technical I have also gained a working knowledge of business and commercial practice, worked embedded with industry, have been seconded into DE&S and had a variety of team leadership roles and military support tasking over many years. I am also a qualified project manager although I have not used these skills directly for a few years.
