Responsible for training development of all facets of Individual, Collective, Institutional, and future training for the Engineer Regiment. Responsible for the execution of all Warrant Officer training and Officer education. Ensures training integration and training management support for field Engineer units. Supervises collection and integration of lessons learned. Supports the development and maintenance of Engineer doctrinal publications.

Director, Department of Instruction, U.S. Army Engineer School, responsible for planning, resourcing, and executing officer leader development and education courses: Engineer Basic Officer Leader Course (EBOLC), Engineer Captains Career Course (ECCC), 120A Construction Engineer Warrant Officer Basic and Advanced Courses (WOBC and WOAC), and Pre Command Course (PCC). Lead and guide 58 U.S. military, foreign exchange military, and civilian instructors, writers, and training developers directly responsible for lesson plans, course development, and delivery of instruction to 1800 Active, Reserve, National Guard component, joint services, and select International Military Student officers annually. Advance instructional methods, integrate new doctrine and force structure, and apply tactical lessons learned to course lesson plans; update and redesign course programs of instruction and submit to TRADOC for annual resourcing. Support the Engineer School's campaign plan with emphasis on training and educating the force. Deliver great engineers capable of decisive action in unified land operations.

37th: Commander of a deployed multifunctional joint engineer task force of seven engineer companies from all three components comprised of 1200 Soldiers and an Air Force detachment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 09-11. Conducted full spectrum engineer operations in support of USF-I across the Iraqi Theater of Operations to provide freedom of maneuver, force protection and civil capacity. Conducted partnership operations and training with Iraqi Field Engineer Regiments. Developed and executed plans to responsibly drawdown coalition forces and equipment. Engaged in the well-being of Soldiers and their Families while deployed and at home.307th: Commander of a 614 Soldier modular combat airborne Engineer Battalion, within XVIII Airborne Corps, consisting of: two equipment support companies, two sapper companies, one forward support company, and the headquarters company. Responsible for all training to maintain a high state of readiness to deploy on order, by forced entry means anywhere in the world to support all contingency missions. Responsibilities included ensuring companies were capable of executing all facets of engineering operations in support of light, mechanized and special operation forces. Responsible for the maintenance and readiness of over 400 reportable lines of equipment valued at over 250 million dollars. Also responsible for the welfare of all paratroopers and their families by maintaining an active family readiness program.

Brigade S3 of the 20th EN BDE (C)(A), comprised of six battalions (+) of engineers including sappers, mappers, builders, firefighters and divers, Responsible for the training, operations, and readiness of units to deploy within 9 hours of notification anywhere in the world by air, sea, or rail prepared to command and control joint engineer forces, conduct forcible entry, counterinsurgency, and conventional engineer operations enabling joint, multi-national, combined arms victory. Provide timely, proactive, and relevant engineer support to XVIII Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg. Develop plans and orders for all operations and be the commander’s primary advisor on the same. Responsible for the training and readiness of the Brigade S3 (Operations, Plans, Training, NBC, Air and Construction), Brigade S2 (Intelligence) and Brigade S6 (Communications) sections. While deployed to Iraq: Coordinates the efforts of the Brigade serving as the Multi National Corps -Iraq’s (MNC-I) Engineer Brigade supporting operations throughout the entire country of Iraq. Synchronizes the effort of all engineer and construction operations throughout the area of operations and in support of every multinational division (MND). Supervises the joint operations center in battle tracking all engineer operations to include route clearance, crater repair, and culvert denial of all main supply routes and alternates in the area of operations. Enables timely and accurate reporting of information to MNC-I and other MNDs. Oversees the training, health, and welfare of 33 Soldiers and maintenance of a wide variety of equipment valued in excess of one million dollars.

During Operation Iraqi Freedom served as the Multi-National Corps – Iraq Engineer Chief of Plan. Plans and integrates engineer operations and support into MNC-I operations plans, contingency plans, and operations orders, synchronizes the efforts of 13,000 coalition engineers. Participates in all levels of the MNC-I military decision making process ensuring that all aspects of engineer operations contribute to the success of the mission and meet the Commanding General’s intent. Coordinates MNC-I engineer requirements with engineer staffs at higher and supporting headquarters, effectively communicates the scheme of engineer operations to subordinate commanders, and validates requirements and sourcing for engineer capabilities and organizations. Pans and maintains all engineer force flow including joint engineer forces. Performs similar duties on the XVIII Airborne Corps staff when not deployed.

Executive Officer of a 578 Soldier airborne combat engineer battalion assigned to the XVIII Airborne Corps. Responsible for planning, execution and oversight of battle staff operations. Serves as the principle advisor to the commander for maintenance of 240 reportable lines of equipment, logistics operations, environmental program, management of a $1.4 million budget, personnel and medical support, physical security, and communications. Directly responsible for the supervision of seven staff officers and four NCOs. Responsible for staff synchronization in supporting command objectives at the battalion and company levels. Manages the materiel and personnel readiness of the Battalion to ensure that each element is prepared to execute operations in support of world-wide contingency missions. Serves as the Battalion Commander in his absence.

S-3 of a forward deployed mechanized combat engineer battalion with an attached multi role bridge company organic to the 2nd Infantry Division. Interacts and coordinates with the 1st Brigade Combat Team to prepare combat plans, orders, and supporting annexes; provides engineer analysis, supervises the Tactical Operations Center and Tactical Command post; conducts combined arms training; and advises commanders on all mobility, countermobility, survivability, general engineering and geospatial matters. Plans and manages training, supervises operations, intelligence, and force protection for the Battalion geographically dispersed on two installations adjacent to the Demilitarized Zone in the Republic of Korea to ensure the combat readiness of over 650 American and Korean Augmentees to the U.S. Army engineer Soldiers.

Deputy Commander for Military Programs for the Sacramento District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers composed of over 1,000 military and civilian employees with an annual operating budget of over $400 million covering an eight state geographical area. Provides leadership, management and executive oversight for the design, construction, environmental and real estate programs in support of 34 Army and Air Force installation and other local, state, and federal agencies. Works directly with active reserve, National Guard, Army, Air Force and DOD installation commanders and engineers the meet their construction, engineering and environmental needs. Coordinates with Department of the Army, major commands, and various federal, state, and local agencies for homeland security and emergency response, and other executive office functions. Serves as the Commander in his absence.

Deputy Chief, Planning Division with an authorized strength of 116 federal employees within six branches and an annual operating budget of $18 million. Provides leadership and management in all aspects of Planning Division’s mission ensuring that District water recourse development and ecosystem restoration projects and developed and implemented in compliance with numerous Corps, state and federal planning procedures, guidelines, laws, regulation and policies. The Planning Division coordinates the execution of technical studies, products, and decision documents during the planning phase of project implementation for a nine state region. Represents the Chief of Planning Division in his absence.

Project Manager for the Guadalupe River Flood Control Project, one of the Sacramento District's top three priority civil works projects, with an estimated cost of $243 million. Responsible for overall coordination and execution of the project, which includes 2,6 miles of channel improvements on the Guadalupe River through downtown San Jose, CA, providing 100 year flood protection, fish and wildlife mitigation and recreation to the Silicon Valley. Responsible for all aspects of project management to include schedule and budget management, quality assurance of engineering and design, and contract management of architect/engineer contracts on all of the project's three major contracts. Represents the District Engineer, serving as the District's primary point-of-contact with the non-federal sponsor, state and local agencies, congressional interests, and others.
