As a member of the Living Wage team at the WageIndicator Foundation, I lead our engagement with clients and partners. The Living Wage databases are WageIndicator’s flagship offering which multinational corporations, non-governmental organisations, and multilateral bodies use to pay fair and equitable wages across their supply chain. They are a key pillar in our mission to make the payment of Living Wages a norm worldwide. From May 1, 2024 WageIndicator wil publish Living Wages for workers, employees, trade unions and small employers. Though started in the Netherlands in 2000, our team is now composed of experts from across the world belonging to numerous professional, geographic, racial, and ethnic backgrounds. This gives us a strong and diverse foundation to build high-quality products that promote good work and fair wages for all. This contributes to our larger goal of creating greater labour market transparency for the benefit of employers and employees everywhere. I learnt a special lesson early in life as an assistant zookeeper when I looked after lions and tigers - be happy if you come back home safely and appreciate being alive. I have lived this lesson every day of my professional career.
