Served as the liaison in communication with Ministry of Foreign Affairs to inform them about regulatory programs that assist in monitoring defense trade activities to ensure compliance with U.S. export law and regulations.Researched and analyzed the Greek political and economic infrastructures to forecast potential risks affecting government policy. The results to these initiatives helped facilitate vital communication between the host country and the US.

University Of Pennsylvania Immunology Laboratory

My research experience last summer at the University of Pennsylvania Immunology Laboratory was extremely edifying. I attained a hands on experience following the molecular testing procedures and working with actual DNA. Before I could begin the lab work, I studied various material, so I was familiar the general history and important functions of the immune system I would be testing. An overview of the extensive procedure is designing and evaluating the laboratory made primers, which will be used for a new method of HLA-typing called Next Generation Sequencing. The daily procedures taught me to be patient and careful because PCR takes nearly five hours to amplify. During my time at the lab, I learned how to make Agarose gel to test the primers, performed electrophoresis to purify DNA fragments, and mastered the use of the lab equipment. The aspect of the experiment that I found most satisfying was its purpose: finding the right match of a transplant donor to its recipient, which can potentially save lives.
