While now I work with school children daily, I have also worked with the general public and performed financial, business, advertising and office-type work for running a small business in retail, as well as sales and creative production. I worked in retail for around 5 years, two of those as a department supervisor, and as a small business owner. I have been a manager for three rental properties and a I am landlord of one. I worked as a park ranger/naturalist and and interpreter for 15 years where successful customer service was an integral part of every job. Some jobs included painting, back county, staffing visitor centers, offices and visitor areas. This job also included daily retail and sales (POS, stocking, ordering supplies), and providing thematic programs to students, visitors, staff training, groups and to families.I worked two years at a small historic site where my duties were almost identical to my park service days, including care for a small museum. The job included providing escellent customer service skills, in person, by phone and mail/email. I guided 1-2 hour interpretive tours of historic homes, grounds and buildings, cleaned museum, theater and historic buildings with approved methods for historic items and buildings, painting and carpentry, setting up for and overseeing events, staffing these events as well, inventorying, cleaning and stocking a visitor center. I enjoy work that challenges with me, I stay flexible with my duties, and look forward to a new and exciting challenge.
