The CHRIS system holds the demographic details of all live patients (approx. 60 million) registered with General Practitioners in England and Wales plus all deceased patients (approx. 20 million). CHRIS is the definitive source of patient location information for 88 individual Primary Health Care Registration systems.- CHRIS system upgrade of the UNIX version and the Adabas and Natural versions.- Build up complete documentation set regarding the application, systems support activities and the environment.- Spread current knowledge base of the system.- Adabas and Natural versions were updated and the Natural code converted to the new versions of Natural and Construct. Knowledge transfer on the new versions of the core products was done.- The existing documentation was gathered, checked and updated. Furthermore many new documents were created to support the maintenance and system support processes.- Responsible for managing the team doing the technical upgrade as well as the documentation exercise. - Responsibilities included the planning of activities and coordinating with the client and the support suppliers. The project’s main goal was the migration of UMG’s US Sales Order Processing application developed in Adabas/Natural/EntireX from z/os Mainframe to AIX Unix platform. To streamline their systems landscape the project ‘PBG Under Architecture’ was set up. All new developments and package acquisitions must conform to the architectural guidelines as decided by the ‘PBG Under Architecture’ team. As part of the project to implement an SOA, the product suite of Software AG was acquired.- Responsible for the team implementing the initial ESB, together with a framework for the SOA on the ESB. This framework was developed by a small team of Software AG architects.- Responsible for another team that worked on implementing the first business projects on the ESB. The business projects included integration of existing packages as well as the development of an entirely new solution for new patient registration.- New solution involved the development of an internet portal for potential clients to register for therapy. Software AG was responsible for the middleware part of this solution; the receiving of messages from the portal, transformation of the data and sending of these reports to end-users.- As part of the SOA and “Under Architecture” requirements of PBG, various security and logging aspects had to be met in all projects. These were modularly solved within the framework.- My responsibilities included the planning and coordination of the activities within the Software AG teams, as well as coordinating with the client teams and other external software development companies involved in the portal development.
