About Paul Jaquin
I'm a structural and geotechnical engineer in Queenstown for eZED, working on Sustainable Building projects around Otago, Southland and wider New Zealand.I was at WSP (Opus) in Queenstown working on a great range of projects from buildings to bridges to rockfalls and retaining walls. Great to be involved in some really interesting project across New Zealand. Previously I led the Structural Engineering team at Land Development and Exploration, with projects in Auckland, Northland and on the East Cape of New Zealand. Our projects range from medium scale commercial buildings to architecturally designed housing. I provided Geotechnical and Civil engineering services on small and medium scale projects. In 2015 I was part of a New Zealand government funded group of engineers who worked in Nepal providing high level engineering expertise following the earthquakes there. I am a highly cited academic, with specific expertise in rammed earth construction and unsaturated soil mechanics, and have published a number of books, and papers relating to earth construction.Previously I've worked for Integral Engineering Design in Bath, UK, on projects such as Bristol Zoo Gorilla House, and worked with ModCell to achieve European accreditation for a prefabricated straw bale building system. As a graduate engineer I worked for Ramboll in Stockholm, Bristol and Edinburgh I received a 2.1 in Civil Engineering at Durham University, and was a recipient of the ICE QUEST scholarship.
