Peak Soil Indexes (PSI) was founded by Paul V. Kanitra to democratize perhaps our most essential resource, farmland in a socially responsible manner. PSI has spent years on the development of market accepted, accurate, farmland replication indexes, applicable for ETF and managed futures use. While gaining investor recognition, farmland remains a hesitant investment choice with onerous transparency and liquidity concerns. The demand for farmland is unquestionable. Historically low interest rates have forced pensions to seek alternative assets to match vs. long term liabilities. A 10+BB population by 2050 in an environment of climate change, land degradation and drying aquifers translates into increasing shortages, volatility and a need for alternative products. Financialization must occur in a manner where large investors do not gain undue influence in the marketplace. The environment, farmers, rural ag community and stakeholders must all be protected. Good farmland financialization is accomplished best when extraneous investors are unable to drive land values.Recent global inflation has witnessed the need for instruments that could provide inflationary safeguards. Unfortunately, traditional investments have a suspect track record. Gold has become increasingly volatile with hedging benefits less reliable. PSI applies machine learning to replicate real property performance with tradable, accurate, synthetic indexes, ready for ETF use. Products derived from the indexes will provide investors access to varied, liquid farmland investments. Additionally, they provide a better way for investors to meet diversification, inflationary and safe-haven protection objectives.More recently, PSI has offered its services as a consultant.
