As part of the information technology department, reporting to the Manager of Data Services, I am on a team that is responsible for building a handful of internal-facing tools as well as a flagship software product used globally by our customers. This team also prototypes solutions alongside data engineers, data analysts, and data scientists.

Firmware SME for all new product development. Performed algorithmic and architectural design on platform level projects, including a novel approach to drive constant flow and pressure of irrigation using electronically controlled valves and flow monitoring. Developed an industry-first system of monitoring equipment health and notifying growers of active or potential issues.As a part of all projects, took responsibility for creating needed software requirements. Used those requirements to drive both code design and testing scenarios. Tests include unit testing for low-level module code, system integration tests, field tests, and final acceptance regression testing.Identified risk of current telemetry devices lacking adequate monitoring of connectivity KPIs. Developed internal NET 8 site along with service application and SQL database to act as Network Operations Center. Service used existing 3rd-Party API to retrieve available data, store it in NOC database, and then used data to create near real-time analytics. Website served this information to internal stakeholders and engineers. Drove adoption and setup of internal code infrastructure for technology development group--including a coding standard, code repository using Azure DevOps, branching strategies, and code review process.Improved internship program within the technology development group to identify and retain young talent. Mentored and coached interns and associate engineers.

Primary Design Engineer for Laser Ablation Software and Firmware. Built and maintained paradigm shifting control software for laser ablation system. This software was responsible for targeting samples for scientific instrumentation. Also responsible for control of vision, motor, gas, and laser control systems. Software constructed using Delphi (Visual Pascal) Rapid Application System.Led effort to create a complete suite of NET-based plugins for partner company's Intelligent Scientific Data Solution software (Qtegra). Architected and developed multiple projects to accomplish all functionality for laser ablation, auto-sampler, and auto-dilution equipment. Created command translation system using Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) framework to replace competitor equipment with company's own equipment.
