Part of a small team targeting the development of the Service business into Asia, responsible for Marketing, Strategic Planning, Business Development, Sales Pipeline Governance and Bid Management. Led the Bombardier maintenance propositions for the Hong Kong North South Line, Singapore Downtown Line and Hyderabad Metro also the System Maintenance proposition to the Bangkok Purple Line Metro system. At ESG Rail where I work now I offer strategic consultation into the rail industry.

With an annual operating and development budget of €5.5m and a team of 46, I was responsible for the Marketing, Strategic Plan, Bid Management and Product Management of the UK Service business.During this period as co-inventor of the Orbita Predictive Asset Management toolset now used extensively by Bombardier to monitor and manage train performance, I was responsible for the development of the product of the Orbiflo family of products now offered to the broader market. The Bombardier Orbita team received the 2009 Modern Railways/Railway Forum Railway Industry Engineering Innovation Award and the 2009 IET Innovation Award for Asset Management. I’m looking forward to receiving more awards in my new role at ESG Rail!

Reporting directly to the President of the global services division I was responsible for a team of 20 devoted to developing winning sustainable strategic growth and a successful Divisional market positioning that enabled top and bottom line growth. Strategic development and re-alignment of the Service Division post integration of Bombardier and ADtranz, I was Instrumental in defining the strategic direction of the Division including the rationalisation of the business footprint and organisation evolution from a decentralised geographic structure to regional product line structure.

Based in Bombadier Transportation Head office St Bruno Montreal, responsible for the management and development of the Transportation Division Bid Governance process.

As an Executive member of the management team that established both companies I undertook a number of roles to create and develop very successful businesses that were eventually acquired by Bombardier. RFS Projects served as an internal and external engineering consultancy growing to approximately 100 engineers and RFS Specialist Rail Products grew from scratch to 120 people and £20m per annum turnover in two years, focused upon design and manufacture of rail vehicle sub-systems.

Did formal training with the British Rail Board becoming part of the first wave of rail privatisation with BREL culminating with a move to the Doncaster site as it was privatised to become RFS.
